where we spent the night

after around 2 hrs 40 min of overcast climbing we arrived at our accom and the clouds magically parted

waiting for the half time entertainment

the meal to sustain the final assault to the top.

a coffee is never far away from jimbo’s hands

the sleeping quaters

bunks plus up close and personal

it was an early night.  at 1.30 am we rose and headed off for the final leg a bit before 2.00 am

Reblogged this on QSTC and commented:
One of the things we try to do in the QSTC is put our bodies on the line for our work. Jim, togetehr with colleague and honary aussie Koichi recently scaled Mt. Fuji with a backpack full of monitoring equipment to undertake a study of the 500 of people climbing Mt. Fuji that day. Unfortunately due to ethics requirements we can’t show you the back pack…but it was there really. Well done boys, bring us back some ice!

i had intended to do just that. unfortunately on the trip back, the beer started to warm up, so i was forced to drink it – this was a hard thing to do, but someone had to do it…
