the wash up

28 Apr

the tobster did a 1.44 and i did a 2.01.  these are the elapsed times. but i doubt that it was a minute that it took to cross the line at the start to get my time under 2 hrs. happy nonetheless. she was hoping to go under 2.00 and i was aiming for a sub 2.10.

bloody only train for a bit over a month and run a 1.44…. bloody kids

one week to go

21 Apr

one week away from the noosa half marathon.  got pushed in an 11km run today.  because of it, think jimbo will be too sore to run next week

oh dear, look at the time, i have slept in

13 Apr

wow 31 dec was the last post.  anyway, happy new year

considering one of you mugs – oops dedicated followers asked what jimbo was up to and thought it time to add an entry.  since the marathon have kept up the running, i think it took the better part of two months before total recovery from shonan.  the longest run since arriving back was from collum to noosa, around 17-18 km.

the last few weeks jimbo has had a running mate – she was pictured in a couple of earlier blogs.  after only a week or two of training she was being pushed, now it is already the case that she is the pace setter – except the hills.

anyway looks like both will be doing a half marathon.  don’t worry, you will not have to put up with months of dribble in the lead up – it is in a couple of week’s time.  one thing that will be missing during the run (and has been in training) is the view of fuji-san….

2012 in review

31 Dec

The stats helper monkeys prepared a 2012 annual report for this blog.

Here’s an excerpt:

The new Boeing 787 Dreamliner can carry about 250 passengers. This blog was viewed about 1,500 times in 2012. If it were a Dreamliner, it would take about 6 trips to carry that many people.

Click here to see the complete report.

Thanks to all for following and commenting.  Am preparing bigger and better things for next year – tomorrow? maybe not – too hung over?  maybe not – too busy playing tag? well sort of correct – bloody cricketers.  now that is cryptic – even for Sharon and Pat….

Anyway, see you all next year and let’s try doubling the visits – 3k should not be too hard and also crack 100 visits in one day – only four off whenever it was…

season’s greetings

25 Dec

a merry christmas to all.  have a relaxing and enjoyable day.  have as much or as little beverage as you wish but be careful if driving.

have a safe and happy new year.

the site might take a shift in the near future. but stuff for running should remain – another run (whatever and wherever it may be) is being planned.

thanks to you all for persevering with my post of mostly immature dribble – but then i never claimed to be anything but… finally, thanks to the postees who felt the need to comment – especially those who took the piss

and it continues….

1 Dec

started running in australia with an easy paced 8+ km run this arvo.  hot running conditions, but a good cooling breeze helped.
